Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14th in 1980) is an American actress, singer as well as a dancer. Her first Broadway role, she was in Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. Her performance in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel was rewarded with the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actor in a Play. Annaleigh is a Tony Award winning actress as well as director, has spent the bulk of her career working alongside well-known directors and actors on screen and in television. Ashford's next project will be an exclusive Hulu series called Welcome to Chippendales, created by Robert Siegel. The show will premiere on the 22nd of November and Ashford plays opposite Kumail Najiani. Ashford is currently filming for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust which stars Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film will be aired on Disney DTC as a Hulu Original. Ashford is scheduled to return to Broadway in March 2023, with the role of Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production takes place in the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The team behind Hamilton producers Jeffrey Seller and director Thomas Kail is at the control of the production. Ashford was Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, inspired by the scandal that was involving Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp during the national crisis. Ashford was a part of two seasons on the CBS successful comedy B Positive. It was developed by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. The show also had Ben Vereen and Elizondo. The actress has also been in Broadway in Sunday in the Park With George Wicked, Legally Blonde in addition to the original part of Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots for which she was nominated for a Tony Award. Ashford is from the city of Denver origins native, and now splits her time in Los Angeles.
