Sara Ramirez
Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American actress, singer, and songwriter for many years. Her mother raised her in the USA in a place where she endured several racial stereotypes, which left her feeling like an unwanted person. After she participated in a school competition and received great praise for her performance when she was in the ninth grade the young girl started to grow more confident. It not only boosted confidence in herself, but it also changed her career ambition. She graduated from New York's Julliard School at the age of 22. In 1993, she had her Broadway debut with Paul Simon's The Capeman. Her first film was called You've Got Mail. The most notable success of her career came when she played The Lady of The Lake on Spamalot's first Broadway production. In addition to being the only actress to get the Tony Award, but her performance was also well-received by the critics. In the year following, she was cast in the ABC series Grey's Anatomy as Dr. Callie Torres and gained wider recognition for it. As a well-known singer, she also has released a song and a play. As an activist, she is a tireless advocate to promote LGBT equality.
